Anderson County is set to revive the Savannah River Scenic Byway with a Tuesday resolution before National Scenic Byway Day on Sept.
22. The plan will add signs, online info, and a kiosk at Green Pond Landing to help visitors explore nearly 40 miles of local scenic, historic, lake country.
🎭 Culture
Pendleton, the oldest township in Anderson County, began in 1790 and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.
Former mayor Carol Burdette is chronicling its rich legacy in a book that celebrates historic sites (Farmers Hall, St. Paul’s Church) as part of the county bicentennial.
